Cornelius joined Slatt Capital in 2022 together with Antonio Hachem and Wendy Wang, previously serving as Assistant Vice President at George Smith Partners. Cornelius has found success together with his team in structured finance deals including but not limited to participating senior loans, construction financing, preferred and JV equity, and subordinate debt across all asset classes.
At Slatt, Cornelius will be building on his success at GSP by focusing on construction and JV equity deals, as well as assisting the team led by Antonio with structing, marketing, and negotiating all deals in process.
Cornelius is an experienced CRE professional with a background in Commercial Real Estate Finance and Private Equity. Prior to joining GSP, Cornelius worked as a Senior Analyst in Private Equity, mostly focused on industrial and retail properties, as well as private off-airport parking facilities. In addition to real estate focus in PE, he also assisted the team with acquisitions and portfolio management of the firm’s investments in companies in the CPG sector.
Cornelius is trilingual and speaks fluent English, Spanish, and Lithuanian.
Cornelius grew up competing in many different sports such as tennis, go kart racing, and soccer. He was previously a world ranked amateur and junior golfer, having won several national titles and placed multiple top 10 finishes at major events in the US, Europe, and Latin America. Today he gets his competitive appetite satisfied at a local CrossFit gym.
Cornelius is an active member of ULI, currently participating in the YLG’s Partnership Forum for a second year in a row.
Cornelius studied Business Administration at Loyola Marymount University where he also played Division I golf. While at LMU, he received the LMU Entrepreneurship Rising Star Award in 2016.
