Since joining Barry Slatt Mortgage in 2012 Kelvin has helped originate over 200 commercial real estate loans totaling over $800MM in originations. He has transacted with all CRE lender types and specializes in underwriting and financing income producing real estate on all commercial property types. Kelvin understands the relationship nature of the real estate business. In partnership with Dan Friedeberg and Marina Elias, he has been able to leverage their deep connections with correspondent and open source lenders at every step of the financing process.
Foreign capital entering the U.S commercial real estate market has become one of the major trends in the industry. Over the past 12 months, Kelvin has been able to place several permanent loans for foreign nationals seeking competitive financing for their acquisitions. Prior to coming to the U.S. Kelvin trotted the world over, living in far off locales such as Hong Kong, Toronto, and Shanghai. Aside from English, Kelvin is also fluent in multiple dialects of Chinese including Mandarin, Cantonese, and Shanghainese.
Kelvin Lam graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in business administration and a concentration in finance.
Kelvin is an active member of the Bay Area Mortgage Association (BAMA), Chinese American Real Estate Association (CAREA) and California Mortgage Bankers Association. Kelvin is a graduate of the CMBA’s Future Leaders Program.
